Author, Aimée Bissonette, discussed researching and writing nonfiction books for young readers like Miss Colfax’s Light, her picture book about legendary Great Lakes lighthouse keeper Harriet Colfax, and Aim for the Skies, her newest picture book about Ohio’s own Jerrie Mock, who raced another pilot in 1964 in an attempt to become the first woman to fly solo around the world.

The lecture was held at The National Museum of the Great Lakes.
