Mike Thiel, food safety manager, The Kroger Co., spoke on the sustainability strategy for one of the nation’s largest grocery chains at the monthly Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum.

Mike Thiel focused on operations, government relations and consumer affairs as it relates to food safety in the 124 stores he oversees in Ohio and West Virginia. He is president of the Ohio Association for Food Protection and a member of both the Ohio and National Environmental Health Associations. He was accompanied by Marne Fuller, retail operations, The Kroger Co., who focused on the overall management of all waste removal practices, waste reduction and recycling programs, supply procurement and expense containment.
