Toledo Museum of Art Director Brian Kennedy spoke with Roger Mandle, who has had a long and illustrious career as an art historian and director. He is the former director of the Toledo Museum of Art (1977-1988), the former president of the Rhode Island School of Design (1993-2008) and the director at the Qatar Museums Authority. He is a member of the Council of Presidents for the University of the People, the world’s first non-profit, tuition-free, online academic institution that seeks to make higher education accessible to students worldwide. He was appointed to the National Council on the Arts by both President Ronald Reagan and President George H.W. Bush.
