Shutta Crum, children's author and poet, spoke at Claire's Day. Claire’s Day is a family community book festival created in honor and memory of a local child named Claire Lynsey Rubini (1990-2000), who loved reading and telling stories. The event title, named in memory of Claire, is an acronym for a Celebration of Life, Authors, Illustrators and Reading Excellence. During the daylong celebration, visiting authors and illustrators gave entertaining and educational presentations at the Maumee Branch Library.
