Gregory Lipps, Herpetologist/Conservation Biologist, discussed "Big Slimy and Endangered: Conservation Efforts for Hellbenders in Ohio."
At up to 2' long, the hellbender is North America's largest salamander. Hellbenders never leave the water, and are therefore directly affected by changes in water quality. In this session, we will discuss the status of hellbender populations in Ohio and efforts to conserve amphibians throughout the state.
The presentation was held at the University of Toledo.
